Ileana Soon – Dreams and Adventures

Ileana Soon grew up in a small seaside town in Borneo, Malaysia, and works now in Los Angeles. Both places are in the work: jungle green, cold water, long roads, and the flat sun-faded colour of a mid-century travel poster.

Dreams and Adventures is the series where that comes together. The Golden Gate Bridge is reduced to a stack of orange geometry, a seaplane sits on still water, and the poster format does the rest. What is missing is the selling.
