Cachetejack’s Bold Flat Illustration
Cachetejack is a London illustration duo whose work is built from flat, geometric colour with no outlines to lean on. A woman in a bright yellow coat strides forward on the phone, a child pulled along beside her in blue; the forms are simplified until the picture reads as shape and motion before it reads as scene.
It is illustration that has to be right in the drawing, because there is nowhere to hide — no line, no shading, only colour against colour. Primary yellow, blue and red over white, and not a wasted edge.
