Josh McKenna’s Tropical Illustration

Josh McKenna is an East London illustrator and designer with an unabashed taste for the tropical: bold geometric shapes, saturated colour and voluptuous holidaying characters that give his portfolio a whimsical, faintly sultry personality.

Only two years out of school, he has already worked with GQ, The Wall Street Journal and Wired — a reminder that a distinctive visual voice travels faster than a long CV. Holding whimsy and menace in the same image is harder than it looks, and he does it easily.
