James Quail – Electric Love Blueprint
The Electric Love Blueprint maps the history of electronic music as a circuit. James Quail, a designer at Dorothy, drew it. It is printed blue, with white traces, coils and capacitors standing in for bands and producers.
Names sit at the nodes. Brian Eno anchors a circle near the middle, wired to Roxy Music and Talking Heads. David Bowie, Suicide, New Order, Joy Division and Cabaret Voltaire share the same runs. Giorgio Moroder, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock fill other branches.
The conceit holds because these names really are a lineage. Every node is a link someone could trace.
