James R. Eads’s Psychedelic Swirl Illustrations

James R. Eads paints scenes that seem to pulsate. Swirling, multicoloured line work runs through figures and landscapes alike, exploring human connection and the relationships people have with nature — an interest that shows up as much in the drawing’s rhythm as in its subject.

Music is the engine. The LA-based illustrator says his work is heavily inspired by it, and he produces gig posters at a steady rate for the likes of the Foo Fighters, the Dave Matthews Band and Iggy Pop. What is shown here is mostly personal work from the past year, some of it available as prints.
