Chris Koublis’s Photographs of Open Landscapes

Chris Koublis photographs isolated landscapes and the animals that wander through them, and his own description of the process is unusually direct: openness, and letting everything flow through undisturbed.

That shows in the pictures. Olive groves, pine forests, the sea and a lone grazing animal are all treated the same way — as things to be received rather than arranged. It is a patient body of work, and the patience is the point.
