Mike McQuade

Mike McQuade is a Philadelphia-based designer and illustrator. Using collage-like techniques and modular grids, he creates inventive compositions, often for editorial commissions.

One piece stacks a portrait inside nested red rectangles, a man in a suit and patterned tie sliced by vertical and horizontal bands of red and black. Another builds a profile from rectangular blocks of teal, red and white, with video-player icons and timecodes — play, pause, rewind — set into the grid.
