Pis Saro’s Botanical Tattoos
The tattoo artist Pis Saro takes the botanical specimens she finds while walking through parks and gardens on her travels and reproduces them on the legs, arms and spines of clients who come to her from all over.
The work is drawn directly from nature, and Saro photographs each tattoo beside the plant it came from — which is either proof of accuracy or a very quiet joke about how closely a permanent mark can imitate something that will be dead by autumn. Either way, the precision is the whole point.
