Anne Jordan designs books. Her covers put type inside a system and let the system do the work. Print magazine named her a New Visual Artists under-30 pick. This selection sets Anne Jordan beside her husband, designer Mitch Goldstein.

Two of the covers here show the method. On Mitchell Dean and Kaspar Villadsen’s State Phobia and Civil Society, the title is cut into a grid of black triangles that fills a white field. On Moon-Kie Jung’s Beneath the Surface of White Supremacy, white wavy lines crowd a black cover and the letters are outlined, not filled.

Both stay readable inside dense pattern. That is the work.
