Pedro Veneziano’s 3D Typographic Worlds
Pedro Veneziano makes 3D illustration that refuses the usual giveaways of the medium. The São Paulo graphic artist’s renders — typographic explorations, mostly — arrive with textures and lighting convincing enough that you stop reading them as CG and start reading them as objects: wooden boxes, painted panels, glossy spheres and striped cones, arranged like a still life rather than a render.
That is the trick worth admiring. 3D usually impresses through scale or spectacle; Veneziano impresses through material. He assembles wood, plastic, paint and steel into small self-contained universes, each with its own internal logic and its own rules about what belongs on the shelf. Playful, but built with a technician’s patience.
