Tiny Paper Flowers Inspired by Pencil Shavings by Haruka Misawa
Haruka Misawa noticed the shapes left by sharpening a pencil and turned them into flowers. Sixteen sit on a white sheet in a loose grid, each one a shallow paper cup with a coloured centre.
The centres run red, blue, yellow and pink. Petals curl and fray at the edges, some white, some faintly tinted. A second image shows the method: a bare pencil, a sharpener with a single curl of shaving still caught in it, and one finished flower set apart.
