Takahiro Kondo fires heads in glazed black ceramic. Each bust is a face with closed eyes, crusted in hundreds of small beads that catch light like droplets.
The beads run and drip down the chin and neck. On a pale ground the surface reads as wet stone. On black, the head floats and the silver points become the only structure. The overglaze is gintekisai, built from silver, gold and platinum.
