Nui Studio’s Mygdal Lamp Grows Plants Indoors

Nui Studio, formerly We Love Eames, built the Mygdal plant lamp for the apartment that never gets enough sun — the dim, shielded rooms where houseplants quietly die. It is mouth-blown glass and aluminium with a living ecosystem sealed inside.

The clever part is not the horticulture, it is the object. The lamp treats glass, metal and greenery as a single material, so the plant reads as the light source rather than as a decoration parked beside one. Lighting design rarely gets to be this patient.
