Damien Poulain

Damien Poulain works in two registers. One cover is kraft board carrying heavy black slabs — a square, a long rectangle, two bent legs — with a white triangle, a small blue triangle and a red line cutting through them. White letters run down both edges spelling LOVE with the middle letters repeated.

The second register is paper. A pale blue set holds cut-out characters: a tall egg with two dash eyes, a dark navy cylinder with a face, a mountain with white zigzag ears, a grey rabbit head. Cone trees and thin stalks topped with small white flowers stand around them. Nothing is textured; every form is a flat silhouette.
