Facultative Works: A Studio Built on Curiosity
Facultative Works started from a simple premise: work only on the experimental and fascinating projects, in your free time, for fun. That is not usually how studios begin, and it is almost never how they survive.
This one did. FW became a serious studio without changing the approach, and the proof is the range — illustration, identity, sound, editorial and furniture design all treated as parts of one practice rather than five separate offerings. The holistic line is usually a piece of agency language; here it reads as an accurate description of the work.
