Felicita Sala Illustration

Felicita Sala was born in Rome, grew up in Perth, Australia, and moved between France and Spain before settling back in Rome in 2007.

The two pages shown here are recipes. The risotto al radicchio page sets an onion, a sprig of rosemary, stock, two heads of radicchio, blue cheese, arborio rice, olive oil and salt and pepper on white ground, each item painted and labelled by hand. The lamingtons page does the same for butter, sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla, milk, baking powder, salt, then the icing and the coconut.

Nothing here is decoration. Every drawing is an instruction.
