Haruka Misawa’s ‘Waterscapes’ 3D-Printed Aquariums
Haruka Misawa, designer and founder of the Misawa Design Institute, built a series of minimal aquariums titled Waterscapes, each containing 3D-printed objects inspired by undersea plant life.
They mimic the coral and weed that small fish use as hiding places, but nothing in them grew — every form was manufactured. The result is a controlled, almost clinical kind of nature, and the fish accept it entirely, which is the quietly unsettling part.
