Jen Stark’s Spiralling Rainbow Vortexes
Jen Stark’s work behaves like a psychedelic wormhole: a pulsating, multicoloured portal that looks as though it might pull you through. Working outward from a prismatic core, each piece radiates a full spectrum across layered paper, PVC or foam board.
These Full Circle pieces are latex spray paint on PVC and monofilament, and they reach that effect the slow way — hundreds of individual components, stacked until the repetition starts to generate movement. “The idea of infinity is so hard to grasp, and I love this challenge,” she says, and the layered material is how she answers it: colour that appears never to end.
