A block of flats hangs in the sky. The building is complete — windows, balconies, a small antenna on the roof — but the ground under it is gone. A street lamp and the branches of a tree sit at the bottom of the frame.

A second image does the same under a clear blue sky: a brick block floats above yellow-leafed trees, beside a traffic light on a yellow arm. The brickwork and glazed balconies are ordinary. Only the position is wrong.

Rafa Zubiría was born in San Sebastián in 1985. The work belongs to two series, Zooo and No Way Home. More sits at Rafa Zubiría.
