Aquavit Packaging by Olssøn Barbieri
Olssøn Barbieri, a Norwegian studio, designed the bottles and labels for No 52, a botanical aquavit. The name and signature belong to Jørgen B. Lysholm, whose early years as a chemist the studio took as its starting point.
The glass is pale green, the caps copper. Cream labels carry engraved ornament, a small portrait crest and the year 1921, with a turquoise band across the base.
The studio says the project allowed it to break free from many existing brand identifiers. What replaces them is archive material kept near the surface rather than tidied away.
