Giuseppe Randazzo – Stone Fields
Hundreds of stones are sorted into a single circular field, each placed by size and tone. The shape reads as a dome or a sphere seen from above.
One image sets the pattern on a dark maroon ground, the stones almost black. Another uses a grey background, with a paler spiral turning at the centre.
Stone Fields is the work of Giuseppe Randazzo. The archaic pattern is monumental; the method behind it is computational.
