Aloof’s Book Design for Gloria Cortina

The Gloria Cortina book is a deliberate refusal of the design monograph as brand exercise. As the designers put it, Cortina has no interest in presenting her work simply as a brand: design, for her, should be a contemporary expression of culture and craft.

So the pages do not illustrate the furniture in obvious ways. They circle it, revealing the thinking around the objects rather than the objects alone — which makes this an unusually generous piece of book design, trusting the reader to want the context as much as the product.
