Branding the Grand Budapest Hotel by Andrea Bianchi
Andrea Bianchi designs the Grand Budapest Hotel as if the stationery had survived from the 1930s: letterhead, envelopes, a postcard, luggage tag and key, laid out on pink. The paper is cream, the type centred and formal.
A Disturb card asks guests to hang the notice on the door instead of knocking. A key tag names Mr. Gustave H. in the Republik Zubrowka. The fictional hotel is treated like a real one, down to the paperwork nobody reads.
Nothing winks. The fiction holds because the forms are filled in properly, details and all.
