Ortolan’s Branding for Kennedy Nolan
Kennedy Nolan’s existing logo was one the practice strongly identified with, but as the studio grew and matured, the identity needed revisiting rather than replacing — a subtler brief than a rebrand, and considerably harder to get right.
Ortolan’s solution contrasts a bold mark with delicate typography, echoing the firm’s interest in materiality and tactility and its play between the utilitarian and the bespoke. Architecture identities tend to fail by trying to look like their buildings; this one simply sounds like the practice.
