F61’s Mental Activity Visual Identity

Mental Activity describes itself as an association of free-minded inventors and creators of small forms for the real world — simple things for a smarter life, from home to comb. The identity comes from F61, a St Petersburg print studio that loves minimalism, analogue printing and the beauty of plain forms.

The project is a good advert for letting production lead. Letterpress weight, paper choice and the discipline of simple shapes do the branding, rather than a logo with a story bolted on — the sort of identity that would survive the loss of its own wordmark.
